A. Cartoon Attached- Artist: Jeff Parker

B. This is political cartoon the newspaper the gentlemen is holding is commenting on the budget cuts, which in this case are in Florida. The newspaper states that they are cutting off so much money that it’s going to cut off an arm and a leg, figuratively, cutting off an arm and a leg meaning that they are cutting off the essential things in schools.

C. Jeff Parker does an excellent job of getting his point across, by comparing schools to a human. Some of essential parts in a human are the arms and legs so having cut them off it would be very difficult to do anything without them. Exactly like money would be to a school, it is one of the most essential things to have. The gentlemen that’s sitting down reading the newspaper also claims that the governor has explained that the budget cuts would be harmless yet he didn’t say it would be that deep as to cutting an “arm.”

D. This political cartoon is correct, money is one of the most essential things to a school and having to cut off and so deep into it, it would cost students and teachers the essential things that they need in their classrooms, figuratively an arm and a leg. These budget cuts can affect the communities because budget cuts could mean poor education and poor education can result to tedious jobs, or no jobs at all, and that can result to impoverished and needy communities. And so just from these deep “harmless” budget cuts it can start a dangerous cycle of underprivileged communities.
