REHUGO Analysis- Visual: Cartoon

A.      Cartoon Attached – Artist: Cathy Thorne

B.      The author is commenting on the stress that is put on many mothers around the world. Having the responsibilities of not only tending to the children but also having to cook dinner and clean the house is very nerve-raking. Even when husbands try to take some responsibilities off their chests by watching over the children, mothers still have many other responsibilities they must tend to around the house.

C.      In the cartoon, the husband is saying, “"Bye Sweetie. I'll be back with the kids in a couple of hours. Enjoy your alone time, relax.” The mother, who is holding toys and clothes, then says, “Relax?” This effectively shows that even without kids, there are so many more things a mother has to accomplish before she can even think about relaxing.

D.      The author is trying to show that while it is thought that men have all the responsibility bringing in the money to put a roof over his family’s head, the mother is the one stuck at home with her children and the chores around the house. Women have a huge amount of pressure on them and their always on their feet, feeling like they have no time to relax.
