REHUGO Analysis - Political Cartoon

A. See Attached

B. This cartoon is showing how in todays society, Americans, seemto always wait for a certain person to take a stand on an issue. In this particular cartoon, Michelle Obama. Though people already know what is good for them and what isn't, they still continue to eat the food that will only harm their health severely. Many people realize and see what certain foods are doing their bodies, yet they wait for someone to speak up about it, before they actually try to make a turn on a better diet. Such as fast food, junk food. That only accumulates calories and gets stored as body fat. Whats worst is that in todays society, people are lazy. Its fine to stop by the local drive- thru once in a while, but if done so often this is what we are left with a larger obesity population. Obesity is still a going on problem today, and still not much is being done about it. Many local fast food places and restaurants are now being required to put up nutrition facts next to their menus. They've taken one step towards change, its time we contribute also.

C. The people in the cartoon only start to speak up and realize that their daily diet isn't right when they see that Michelle Obama is taking a stand on the issue. Only now that she has spoken to promote a better and healthier diet, is when the people start to change their eating habits. Since it was Michelle Obama and Walmart taking a stand on the issue, it has heads turning and listening, but if it were just Walmart it wouldn't be as affective as it is.

D. In todays society, many people though they know that they have the power or strength to stand up for something they believe in and know that they could make a difference all fear the same thing. That they will have no followers. it will only lead to failure. But, when a certain figure such as Michelle Obama takes a stand, the people listen. She to was just like you and me, but now she has title created for her, the First Lady because her husband is the President of the United States. If people who had the same values as her, though may need to push harder to let their voice be heard, they'll never know unless they actually try.
