B. Meaning

a. “It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons.” This affirmation shows how a family does not have to be of blood relation, but may simply be a person whom you share mutual love for. In general, the majority of people start to form social families at a very young age. As life goes on, you begin to form very strong bonds with each other, thus resulting in a common love for one another.

b. “With all my fans, I got a family again.” This quote presents you with the feeling one may have when not blessed with a loving, caring family. Many have been unwilling placed in a situation where they no blood family to turn to and confide in. Typically, most will turn to others in hopes of finding the lost feeling of love they have been yearning for.

C. Relevance Today

In the present day, society is very stereotypical and harsh. There is a common appearance and criteria that is seen as “perfect.” Without meeting these very specific expectations, many feel alone and ignored. The majority of people will turn to their friends and family of blood relation and non-blood relation for the love and care that they are not receiving from the rest of the community. When those whom you love, such as parents and siblings, turn on you or pass away, you are left with your social, or non-blood related, family. They are often waiting for you with open arms and are glad to take you in as their new family.
