REHUGO Analysis: Quote
A. Barbara Bush – “To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there.”
Al Scalpone – “The family that prays together, stays together.”
B. “To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there.”
Barbara Bush is sharing her definition of family, and to her, a family is people that will always be there for one another no matter what the occasion This means that a family member is willing to gout of his or her own way for the benefit of another family member because they care for that person enough to do so.

“The family that prays together, stays together.”
In this quote, Al Scalpone is metaphorically speaking about praying together as a family. What “prays together” actually defines any activity done together in general. Scalpone’s message is that the families that spend time together are the families that are close-knit and not separated.
C. The relevance of Bush’s aphorism is everyone has his or her own definition of a family, but the important thing is whether or not one has that bond with their family members that make it special. The bond is something unique that in every case is different among other people, but the importance of it is having another person to help you in time of need. Without family, there will never be that comfort one feels from having one.

On the other hand, Scalpone’s relevance is that one must do whatever it takes to keep a family together. A family does not have to pray if that is not what they do, but whatever keeps your family together is of great value. Do not stray away from your family because everyone needs one physically and emotionally. Therefore, do whatever it takes to keep your family close whether it’s having a family game night or just having occasional talks with parents or siblings.
