REHUGO Analysis—Universal Truth, Two Quotations

A. Author: Albert Einstein Quote: Rejoice with your family in the beautiful land of life!

Author: Christopher Lasch Quote: The family is a haven in a heartless world.

B. The first quote by Albert Einstein refers to the beauty and grace of the love and the lively feeling of being with ones family. This small quote though small and simple, it is the simplest things that at times mean the most. This quote has the terms rejoice, family and land of life; these three small terms are the main objectives of how a family should be spending each other’s company. Einstein also emphasis on how life is short and one should thus rejoice and live in the land of life with ones family. In the quote of Christopher Lasch, Lasch gives off a more of a broad and classic meaning. The mentioning of “haven in a heartless world” is giving off a sense of how a family is more of a safe zone in a world where danger can occur at any time. Though granted that a family is a haven for anyone and everyone in the family, the quote states to more of how one would be more secured if they were to stay with in the family. Both quotes emphasis on how valuable a warm loving family is and though the family may go through some hardships they have each other to look for comfort and each other to rely on.

C. These quotes both show and give a positive view of how a family should be. Einstein’s quote of rejoicing with ones family in the land of life tells that a family should spend each other’s time with the utmost importance and value. Although, now there are some of the loving and caring family one would expect not all families share this happiness of being blessed. Some families in fact do not treasure other family members and would rather they weren’t referred to family members. In Lasch’s quote he speaks a truth that is expressed in most families who truly value on another. However, some families in stead of being this “safe haven” they are the “heartless world” in which their kin fear.
